there are six principle human cast members-- jessica, kit, emma, danny, esther, and lucy.
besides them, there are two ai students-- olive and godfrey, who, as you can tell by the slighty stronger font usage, are my favorite characters.
lastly, there's THE VOICE-- the director of the reality show the kids are in. he only appears onstage at the end and he sucks, so i usually forget about him. fun fact though-- he was originally voiced by jeff goldblum! wild, right?

what's this play about?
nothing is the end of the world (except the end of the world) is a 2012 play written by bekah brunstetter and produced with the students of PPAS in new york.it follows the students of hurtz high school as they attempt to integrate two AI beings. the AIs are made out of cybernetics in reanimated dead bodies. their names are olive and godfrey, and they are the biggest dorks alive.
all the kids-- human and not-- must navigate the usual nonsense that is high school while also contending with a reality show intent on making the integration as big of a spectacle as they can.
it's a damn good show. don't you forget it.
why do you like it so much?
short answer: olive is just like me for real
long answer: it's a play i've worked on from october to december of 2023, with a wonderful cast and crew. i have been so happy to be a part of it and it truly does mean a lot to me!! i decided to research it and archive the information i find for future play folks to be able to read it :]
